Privacy Policy

Split It ("the App") is a music practice tool that uses AI-powered stem separation to help musicians practice. This policy explains how the App handles data.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, store, or process any personal information such as:

Names, email addresses, or account credentials
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or tracking data

No user accounts are required to use the App.

2. Audio Files You Upload

When you upload an audio file, the following occurs:

The audio file is sent to our server hosted on Render.com (Oregon, USA) for processing.
The audio is then forwarded to Modal.com (a third-party cloud GPU service) to perform AI stem separation.
The resulting separated audio tracks (stems) are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and associated with your anonymous session ID.
Stems remain available until you delete them via the app. You can delete any song at any time using the trash icon.
Audio files are not linked to any user identity — only to an anonymous session ID stored in your browser.

3. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

Render.com – Cloud hosting provider. See their Privacy Policy.
Modal.com – Cloud GPU service for AI audio processing. See their Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare R2 – Object storage for processed audio stems. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

5. Data Security

All communication between the App and our server uses HTTPS. Audio files are stored in Cloudflare R2 and are associated only with an anonymous session ID — not with any personal data.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
